Jean Michel Jarre's concert in the Roman theatre of Herod Atticus (where Greek opera diva Maria Callas held her first public performance) will be a tribute to Melina Mercouri, the Greek actress and minister of culture who always promoted her country and the festival.

In an interview with the Herald Tribune, Jean Michel Jarre announced the concert would be inspired by Greek mythology in a contemporary and futuristic context, including video projections and light effects. The stage set, designed by Mark Fisher, is to be entirely adapted to the Roman theatre of more than 1800 years old.
