A new Jean Michel Jarre album will be released on Monday 28th October by Francis Dreyfus Music in France, Belgium and Switzerland (no confirmed dates for other European countries at present).
The album entitled Sessions 2000 is a mixture of six electro-jazz jams by Jean Michel Jarre and Francis Rimbert, recorded in the Croissy Studio and mixed by Joachim Garraud in the Square Prod Studio.
The music is completely original, in a style we have never heard from Jean Michel before, in a very jazzy atmosphere with a lot of piano sounds, acoustic bass and trumpets. The album is more like a relaxing background music, similar for the compositions for Bang & Olufsen (recorded at the same time as this album) with no melodies, but soundscapes and samples from orchestras and sound effects. Compared to previous compositions of Jean Michel Jarre, it has the most resemblance to the music written for the movie Qui Veut Devenir Une Star and the jingles for Match-TV.
