Here follows a brief review of yesterday's concert, based on the AFP press release.

- Jean Michel Jarre dedicated the Gloria Lonely Boy track (played in its symphonic version as in Egypt) to Greek actress Melina Mercouri who disappeared last year and was since the beginning involved in this project.

- The concert opened with Oxygene 4, inspired by both ancient and contemporary Greek civilisation with projections of antique masks as well as portraits of Greek people today.

- Magnetic Fields 2 sees its inspiration in nature with a brief illustrated history of fauna and flora, followed by the conquest of space with a symbolic lift off of a space shuttle from the antique theatre.

- Chronologie 3 introduced a new laser harp, which offers new possibilities in terms of velocity and sensibility.

- Finally Akropolis, the new piece Jean Michel has especially composed for the site, has received a standing ovation with its unique combination of electronic music and the Athens choir.

Two hundred people are involved in the concerts, with ten months of intensive preparation, including 3 months working on the video projections. More then fifty tons of materiel have been transferred to Greece from France and the UK.
